The California State Fair is celebrating our 50th Anniversary at Cal Expo this year. To commemorate our anniversary, we asked local illustrator, Jason Malmberg, to design our annual poster. The design features landmarks from the original drawings from Disneyland executives and engineers that are still prominent on the grounds today. Governor Ronald Reagan dedicated Cal Expo on July 1, 1968 and gave much of the credit to the new fairgrounds to Governor Pat Brown who signed into law the Senate Bill 1114 to create the California Exposition and Fair Executive Committee to plan and oversee construction of the new fair grounds in 1962.
The California State Fair marketing team will be giving out posters at community events every weekend until the opening of the fair. A limited amount of posters signed by the artist will be available for sale. For those of you who want a signed poster, you are welcome to purchase a poster and choose either for us to mail it to you, or you can pick it up when you visit the State Fair on July 14 – July 30 at the box office.
Signed poster (pick up at Box Office located at the Main Gate) = $15.00
