Come meet the authors who call California home. Here, California authors from a variety of genres will have books for sale and even sign them for their fans. Meet your favorite California author, or discover your next can’t-put-down read. Book subjects range from romance, mystery, children’s stories, science fiction and everything in between.

Brenda Novak’s Bookstream

After traveling nearly 13,000 miles around the country for THE SEASIDE LIBRARY Book Tour (which is the equivalent of going halfway around the world!), Brenda Novak’s Bookstream is coming to the California State Fair!

In this darling 1969 Globe Trotter Airstream, which has been renovated into a tiny bookstore, you’ll be able to purchase an autographed copy of New York Times bestselling author Brenda Novak’s newest release, THE SEASIDE LIBRARY, and/or pick up a variety of titles from her backlist (even some that are hard to find!), T-shirts, mugs, other bookish items and more! The reading nook in front of the Bookstream will be the perfect place to take a break from the heat and relax with your new book!

Denise Lee Branco

Denise Lee Branco is the multi-award-winning author of two books, whose passion is using her writing to highlight the human-animal bond and advocate for animal rescue. She is a member of several writing and publishing organizations and has been a contributor to thirteen anthologies.

Kathleen Cawley
Author’s Website

Kathleen Cawley is a physician assistant, author, and mother of twins. She writes on parenting and childhood for the Auburn Journal and Folsom Telegraph. She has a keen interest in the emotional transition to parenthood, the social pressures on families, and the unspoken challenges of parenthood.

Martha Dunne

Fascinated by all aspects of human behavior, psychology nerd Martha Dunne discovered the phenomenon of Asperger’s Syndrome (now, High Functioning Autism) in her adult son and wrote “Wait, What Do You Mean?” to share the AAAs of autism advocacy – Awareness, Acceptance and Appreciation of those persons on the autism spectrum.

June Gillam

June Gillam writes the Hillary Broome crime novel series, inspired by her obsession with what makes ordinary people mad enough to kill. A native of the Central Valley, June lives cradled between California’s Coastal Range and the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Eileen Hook has been actively researching and portraying California pioneer women since 1980. Her study of Eliza Gregson’s life has taken her to England, Rhode Island, and along the California Trail to pre gold rush California. “Eliza’s Story” is the true story of a woman pioneer.

Bob Irelan’s commitment to writing began as a journalism major, and it grew steadily over the years. Following 10 years of reporting and editing, including stints at The Wall Street Journal and Nation’s Business magazine, he spent 32 years in public relations for a Fortune 500 family of companies.

Ronald Javor

Ronald Javor has written seven books for young readers about overcoming hurdles involving homelessness and other disabilities with help from family and friends. Ron is a retired attorney whose professional and post-retirement volunteering involve promoting safe and affordable housing and shelters.

Retired from a career as an attorney and law school professor, Tim Schooley writes historical fiction. His debut novel, The Wool Translator, was published in 2022.
