California Commercial Extra Virgin Olive Oil

The California State Fair prides itself in showcasing California’s best commercial wine, cheese, craft brew and extra virgin olive oil. This competition designates the best extra virgin olive oils which are grown, processed and packaged in California.

This project is supported by the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) through Grant SCB14002.

April 13 – Sampling & Sales Center booking open to all CA State Fair winning producers

June 21 – Capitol Steps Press Event
Best of Show winners, Bondolio and Calivirgin, will receive their Golden Bear Trophies at this morning public media event.

June 21 – Best of California Tasting Reception
Best of Show and Best of California winners are invited to connect with buyers and producers while sampling their oils at this reception, held as the opening event of the annual California State Fair Gala.

July 14 – 30 – California Extra Virgin Olive Oil Sampling & Sales Center, Classroom & Educational Exhibit at the 2017 California State Fair
Consumers and Producers bond over free samples of California’s best olive oils. New this year, expert-led olive oil tasting and pairing classes will be held during the Fair.
